Cookie Policy

Effective Date: July 15, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Jishnu uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our platform. As a platform built on trust and transparency, we believe you have the right to know exactly what is stored on your device and why.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make platforms function properly, maintain secure sessions, and provide anonymized performance insights to platform owners.

2. Informed Consent & No Dark Patterns

Jishnu strictly prohibits the use of deceptive "Dark Patterns."

  • Clear Choices: We do not use confusing language, hidden buttons, or manipulative design techniques to trick you into accepting non-essential cookies.
  • Opt-In Approach: Non-essential cookies (if any are introduced) are disabled by default. You must explicitly opt-in to activate them.
  • Easy Opt-Out: Withdrawing consent is as easy as granting it. You can manage your preferences at any time through our easily accessible Cookie Management dashboard.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

To ensure maximum data privacy and system performance, Jishnu operates on a minimalist cookie architecture.

A. Essential / Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are critical for the platform to function and cannot be disabled in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as logging in.

  • Supabase Auth Cookies: We utilize Supabase for our authentication infrastructure. Supabase issues secure, encrypted session cookies (sb-[project-ref]-auth-token) to verify your identity after you log in via Google OAuth. These are essential for keeping you logged in securely while you navigate between study plans, mock tests, and account settings.

B. Analytics and Performance Cookies & Server Logs

Currently, Jishnu utilizes a highly restricted set of analytics cookies (such as Vercel Analytics) solely to monitor platform uptime, track page load speeds, and identify technical errors.

  • These cookies do not track individual users across the wider web.
  • Data collected via frontend analytics is aggregated and anonymized.
  • Server Logs: In addition to cookies, our infrastructure (Vercel Edge) automatically generates server logs which temporarily capture IP addresses and request metadata. These logs are retained strictly for essential security, DDoS mitigation, and anti-fraud purposes, and are not used for marketing or profiling.

C. Third-Party and Advertising Cookies

Jishnu DOES NOT use advertising or retargeting cookies. We do not track your browsing habits to serve you ads, nor do we allow third-party data brokers to drop tracking cookies via our platform.

4. How to Manage Your Cookies

You have full control over your cookie preferences:

  • Platform Settings: You can adjust your consent for any non-essential cookies via the "Cookie Preferences" link located in the footer of our website.
  • Browser Settings: Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings preferences. Please note that if you configure your browser to block Essential Cookies (like our Supabase Auth tokens), you will be unable to log in or use the Jishnu platform.

5. Updates to this Cookie Policy

We may occasionally update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our technical stack or regulatory requirements. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest information on our privacy practices.
