Terms of Service

Welcome to Jishnu. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Jishnu ("we," "our," or "us") governing your access to and use of our EdTech SaaS platform, including our AI-assisted study tools, mock tests, and any related services.

By accessing or using Jishnu, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services.

1. Educational Disclaimer

WARNING: CRITICAL DISCLAIMER: Jishnu is an AI-assisted preparation tool designed to aid students studying for Indian defense exams (AFCAT, NDA, CDS). We are NOT a certified educational institution or an official testing body.

  • No Guarantees: We make ZERO guarantees regarding your actual exam scores, passing rates, admissions into defense academies, or career outcomes.
  • AI Limitations: The "AI Tactical Coach" and generated study plans rely on automated systems (Google Gemini API) to provide strategic advice. This automated advice is supplemental and should never replace official exam syllabi guidelines, instructions from official exam boards, or certified professional tutoring.

2. Intellectual Property (IP) Rights

All content, features, and functionality on the platform are the exclusive property of Jishnu and its licensors.

  • Platform IP: The platform's entire UI/UX, software code, and underlying architecture are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
  • Content IP: All proprietary mock test questions, question banks, answer explanations, and dynamically generated study frameworks remain the exclusive intellectual property of Jishnu. You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use this content solely for your personal exam preparation. You may not copy, distribute, sell, or publicly display this content.

3. User Accounts and Security

To use Jishnu, you must register for an account using Google OAuth.

  • Account Integrity: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • No Credential Sharing: Your account is strictly for your personal use. You are expressly prohibited from sharing your account credentials with third parties or allowing others to access your premium subscription.

4. Payments and Subscriptions

Jishnu uses Razorpay as our third-party payment processor. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to Razorpay's terms of processing.

  • All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise required by applicable law or specifically stated in our Termination clause below.

5. Account Termination

We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your account, without refund or prior notice, if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have:

  1. Violated our Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP) (e.g., unauthorized data scraping, AI manipulation).
  2. Attempted to breach, bypass, or exploit our Supabase Row Level Security (RLS) architecture or other platform security measures.
  3. Shared your account credentials with other individuals.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jishnu shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the platform. Notwithstanding the foregoing, and to the extent liability cannot be fully excluded under applicable law, Jishnu's total aggregate liability for any direct damages arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total amount of fees paid by you to Jishnu in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

7. User Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Jishnu, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms, the Acceptable Usage Policy, or any applicable law; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights; or (d) any content or data you submit, post, or transmit through the Service.

8. Age Restriction & Parental Consent

The Service is intended for use by individuals who are at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf and consents to the processing of your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Jishnu reserves the right to request proof of such consent at any time and to suspend access pending its verification.

9. Non-Affiliation / Trademark Disclaimer

Jishnu is an independent, privately operated examination-preparation platform. Jishnu is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected in any way to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the Ministry of Defence, the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), the Educational Consultants India Limited (EdCIL), or any other government body, examination board, or official examination-conducting authority. Any resemblance between the Jishnu testing interface and any official examination portal is intended solely to familiarize candidates with a realistic testing environment and does not represent, and should not be understood to represent, any official product, certification, or endorsement.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Subject to the grievance redressal process set out in Section 12, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Jishnu platform.

11. Severability & Force Majeure

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable for any reason, that provision shall be eliminated or limited to the minimum extent such that the remaining provisions of these Terms will continue in full force and effect.

Force Majeure: Jishnu shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance under these Terms resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authority, fire, floods, accidents, network or infrastructure failures, strikes, or shortages of transportation, facilities, fuel, energy, labor, or materials, and including outages or degraded performance of third-party infrastructure providers (including Vercel, Supabase, and Google Cloud/Gemini API) that Jishnu relies upon to deliver the Service.
